Data Architect - Trade - Robert Walters : Job Details

About the Role:We are looking for a seasoned Data Architect to join a strategic data function that supports business transformation across Trade, Sales Operations, and Finance. You'll be instrumental in defining and delivering enterprise-grade data architecture and big data solutions that align with both IT and business strategies.

Location: London, Greater LondonContract: 6-month initial contractRate: £750-900 a day, PAYE OR Umbrella

In this role, you'll design and implement Lakehouse Architectures, create conceptual-to-physical data models, and drive data governance frameworks. You'll also enable seamless integration across complex systems to support valuable analytics and decision-making capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design enterprise data architectures for key business functions such as Trade, Sales Ops, and Finance.

• Develop target-state architectures and data strategies in line with business needs.

• Create and manage conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

• Design and implement Lakehouse Architectures using Databricks and other modern data platforms.

• Ensure robust data governance, integration, and quality across systems.

• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, cloud-based solutions.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong experience in data architecture, data modelling, and big data platforms.

• Proven expertise in Lakehouse Architecture, particularly with Databricks.

• Hands-on experience with tools such as Azure Data Factory, Unity Catalog, Synapse, PySpark, Power BI, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, and Python.

• In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.

• Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures and microservices in data environments.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in the commodities or trading industry.

• Knowledge of financial and operational data domains.
