Location: Chorley (Hybrid) - Candidates must live within a commutable distance, as will be required into the office

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

The Role

Our client is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join their team as a Data Analytics Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data analysis and engineering, with the ability to extract valuable insights from complex datasets.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the jobholder will be responsible for the creation, maintenance and delivery of all business MI, data analysis and future data warehousing. They will be responsible for building and managing the processes that extract and transform the data from a variety of systems. This role is the first of its kind, giving the jobholder the opportunity to shape the future of this area.

Main Duties

  • Utilise statistical methods and tools to analyse large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Develop and implement data models, algorithms, and statistical analyses to support business decision-making.
  • Interpret and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders through clear and concise reports and visualisations.
  • Design, implement, and maintain databases to store and manage large volumes of data.
  • Optimise database performance and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Develop and maintain data-driven applications and tools using programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or others as necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Implement and optimise data pipelines for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Create interactive and informative dashboards and reports to present key insights to stakeholders using tools like Power BI.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of data and applications to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Identify and address data quality issues and discrepancies.

Experience Required

  • Knowledge and experience within credit hire or motor insurance is essential.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, database management and pipeline development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and machine learning techniques is a plus

Qualifications Required

  • Knowledge and experience within credit hire isessential.
  • Degree in a STEM field or relevant experience.
