Our team

The Unsecured Credit Risk team reports into a Credit Risk Manager and provides input to the Risk Management Leadership Team, Risk committees and the wider business as required, including the Commercial, Finance and Customer Experience teams. We're responsible for proactive management of strategies covering credit lifecycle, ensuring policy performance meets risk and reward guardrails. In this team, no two days will be the same as you collaborate with a range of stakeholders to ensure analysis is providing true insight into risks and opportunities.

What you'll be doing

  • Using your experience and judgement to design and set strategies for the Personal Loans and Current Account portfolios, ensuring they adhere to the Risk Appetite Statements and applicable regulations whilst allowing safe, profitable unsecured lending growth.
  • Performing analysis using SAS and Microsoft office to explore emerging trends and make subsequent strategy changes.
  • Working collaboratively with Credit Strategy owners and Commercial and operational colleagues to identify improvements that maintain regulatory compliance, improve efficiency, or provides additional value to the business.
  • Supporting the Credit Risk Manager to provide meaningful insight and recommendations for Senior Management and to relevant meetings and committees.
  • Developing and maintaining a relationship with the wider Credit Risk teams to ensure that best practice is shared.
  • Helping maintain our internal Governance frameworks, policies and Regulatory guidelines and ensuring this framework is embedded in the business to ensure sound risk practices are adopted.
  • Delivering high-quality customer service, including implementation of a culture to continuously improve and rationalise processes and related complexity.

We need you to have 

  •  A proven track record of using data analysis to reach informed conclusions.  
  • Expert knowledge and experience of using MS Office suite, as well as strong analytical experience in SAS and/or SQL.
  • Experience in the development of credit risk strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to condense and simplify complex information.
  • Capacity to handle high workflows and prioritise appropriately. The ability to build strong networks to collaborate effectively with internal and external parties.

It's a bonus if you have but not essential

  • Experience working within Credit Risk on Personal Loans/Current Accounts products.
  • Experience in influencing change in a positive and collaborative manner.
