Credit Controller - Reed : Job Details

Reed Finance is delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established business based in Bedford, to recruit a proactive and commercially minded Credit Controller.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in credit control to join a dynamic finance team and play a key role in maintaining the company’s cash flow and customer relationships.

Duties Include:

• Processing sales invoices throughout the month
• Issuing monthly statements to all customers
• Identifying and chasing overdue invoices
• Reducing debtor days and improving overdue account metrics
• Contacting customers via phone and email to resolve account issues
• Recording all customer interactions and outcomes accurately
• Negotiating payment plans and initiating legal proceedings when necessary
• Updating customer records with credit reports and limits
• Posting and allocating customer receipts
• Managing legal cases in liaison with insurers and solicitors
• Building constructive relationships with customers
• Escalating relevant issues to the Financial Controller

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a credit control role
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (Sage 50)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive and flexible approach to work

Salary and Benefits:
