Credit Controller

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our team on a fixed-term contract basis. This role involves managing customer interactions, processing payments, and maintaining strong relationships with both customers and field-based personnel. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting our credit control operations, ensuring efficient handling of orders and payments, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organisation.
Day-to-day of the role:
Handle incoming calls and emails, ensuring timely and efficient communication.
Release orders for delivery and manage daily interactions with customers and field-based personnel.
Collect payments to enable order releases and allocate cash correctly and promptly.
Control your own ledger, escalating overdue debts swiftly to minimise risk and avoid potential write-offs.
Address disputed invoices and liaise with the legal team regarding irrecoverable debts.
Provide day-to-day administrative support including issuing copy invoices, statements, and managing customer accounts.
Build and maintain excellent relationships with customers and collaborate effectively with peers in other departments.
Generate weekly Excel reports on overdue debts for Sales Development Managers.
Support colleagues by covering tasks periodically and contributing to team efforts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in credit management.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
Strong ability to meet deadlines and achieve performance targets.
Excellent attention to detail and strong planning and organisational skills.
Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Windows applications.
Experience with online platforms such as Procure Wizard is advantageous.
