Credit Controller – 6 Month FTCLeading Law Firm | Birmingham | Hybrid Working (2 days in office) | Core hours 9:30–5:30

Totum is working with a leading law firm to recruit a Credit Controller on a six-month fixed-term contract.

Important: Candidates must have recent credit control experience within a law firm or professional services environment. Applications without this experience will not be considered.

This role involves managing your own ledger, working closely with Partners and fee earners, and helping the team meet monthly collection targets.

Key responsibilities:

• Own and manage your client ledger

• Chase overdue invoices via phone, email, and letter

• Follow up on unpaid bills with Partners and Lawyers

• Resolve payment queries with internal teams

• Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

• Join regular debt review meetings with Partners

• Produce debtor reports and client statements

• Allocate cash and handle related queries

• Hit monthly cash collection targets

• Help reduce debtor days and improve cash flow

• Keep sales ledger records accurate and up to date

• Provide cover for colleagues across the team

• Support wider finance tasks when needed

The team works on a hybrid basis — 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.
