Credit Controller

Location: Chawton, Alton, Hampshire (On-site)Pay Rate: £13.21 – £17.00 per hour (Temporary Contract ongoing with Temp to Perm Opportunity)Hours: Part-Time, Monday to Friday, 20-25 Hour per week

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credit Controller to join a small, friendly finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong sense of purpose and a desire to contribute to a values-driven organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and approve customer credit applications in line with company policy.
• Monitor customer accounts and proactively chase overdue payments via phone, email, and letter.
• Negotiate and set up payment plans where necessary.
• Liaise with internal departments to resolve invoice disputes or queries.
• Maintain accurate records of all credit control activity.
• Prepare regular reports on aged debt and debtor performance.
• Initiate legal proceedings or escalate to debt collection agencies when required.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and GDPR.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage 200 would be beneficial).
• Good Excel skills for reporting and analysis.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience in a credit control or finance role is preferred.

Desirable Attributes:

• Experience working with high-volume ledgers.
• Knowledge of legal debt recovery processes.
• Sage 200
