Alexander Daniels Credit Division are pleased to be recruiting for a Credit Controller on behalf of our client who are a growing and established business based in Worcester. We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join its dynamic finance team. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts while maintaining positive relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts receivable and proactively chase outstanding debt via telephone, email, and letter.
- Accurately allocate incoming payments and maintain an up-to-date sales ledger.
- Reduce overdue balances through strict adherence to credit control policies and efficient dispute resolution.
- Administer and process customer rebates in line with agreements.
- Oversee dispute-related activities, collaborating with internal teams to reduce debtor days and disputed balances.
- Liaise with sales, customer service, and external partners to resolve pricing discrepancies and provide proof of delivery (POD).
- Process return authorisations, credit notes, and refunds as required.
- Maintain high levels of customer service by consistently delivering efficient credit control processes and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Respond to customer queries and manage daily banking transactions.
- Produce timely and accurate financial and management reports.
- Maintain clear and up-to-date records in the credit control system (NetSuite).
- Document and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the credit department.
- Provide support to the wider finance team as needed.
About You:
- 2-3 years' experience in a credit control or similar finance role.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software; prior experience with NetSuite is advantageous.
- Excellent phone communication and customer service skills.
- Confident analysing financial data to support decision-making.
- Organised and detail-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
