Credit Control Manager - Headstar : Job Details

This credit control function needs a shake-up. That's where you come in.

This Boroughbridge based business need someone who can take ownership of the credit control side of things, get it organised, and keep the cash coming in when it should. Right now, it's not as slick as it could be, you'll be the one making that happen.

You'll also be the line manager for an Accounts Assistant. This is a hands-on role, if you're the sort of manager who prefers sitting back and delegating everything, it probably isn't for you.

What will you be doing?

• Taking full control of the credit control function and knocking it into shape.
• Chasing debts, reducing aged debt, and improving cashflow.
• Tightening up processes and putting proper policies in place.
• Producing straightforward credit reports for senior management (without drowning them in spreadsheets).
• Managing and supporting a Purchase Ledger Assistant.
• Building relationships with customers and colleagues so things get done on time.
• Being the go-to person for all things credit control.

What they're looking for:

• Someone who's done credit control at a senior level and has the scars to prove it.
• Someone who is comfortable getting involved in the purchase ledger as a point of escalation.
• A natural organiser who can spot a messy process and fix it.
• Confident dealing with customers who are a bit "creative" about paying on time.
• Comfortable making decisions, not waiting for permission every five minutes.
