Cover Supervisor - Tradewind Recruitment : Job Details

Salary: £90 - £120Contract: Full-time, term-time onlyStart Date: September 2025Location: Blackburn

Tradewind work with a specialist provision for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and additional learning difficulties. Our small, supportive classes focus on building trust, resilience and a love of learning.

We are seeking an organised and confident Cover Supervisor to:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons when teachers are absent, maintaining a calm and positive learning environment

• Support pupils with SEMH needs, using strategies to manage behaviour and encourage engagement

• Work alongside teaching assistants and pastoral staff to ensure continuity of learning

• Step into different subject areas as required, with full guidance provided

• Experience working with children or young people (ideally in SEN, SEMH, or behaviour support settings)

• Strong classroom presence and the ability to stay calm under pressure

• Flexibility to work across different age groups and subjects

• Willingness to undertake training such as Team Teach, trauma-informed practice, or safeguarding updates

• Small classes and strong support from experienced staff

• Ongoing CPD, including behaviour and de-escalation training
