We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring Sessional Counselling Lecturer to join our vibrant team. This role is ideal for current or experienced counselling tutors or co-tutors looking to make a significant impact within our educational setting. With nearly 200 students, your role will be crucial in supporting learners to achieve their ambitions and gain a CPCAB qualification.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver the CPCAB Level 5 Counselling Children and Young People Diploma.
  • Lead theory discussions and assess students' counselling skills.
  • Regularly mark homework and sign off on final portfolios.
  • Ensure learners are adequately prepared for external assessments.
  • Utilize a variety of counselling approaches, with a focus on integrative methods that include a person-centred/humanistic foundation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People (CYP-L5) or equivalent.
  • 420 hours therapeutic counselling qualification at level 4 or above (e.g., TC-L4).
  • Minimum of 10 hours of personal therapy.
  • Membership in a professional association for counselling or psychotherapy (e.g., BACP, UKCP).
  • Commitment to 30 hours per year of CPD activities.
  • At least 2 years of post-qualifying practice as a current CYP practitioner.
  • Experienced in providing supervision to counsellors working with CYP.
  • Teaching qualification and at least 2 years of experience teaching and assessing CPCAB counselling qualifications at level 4 or above.
  • For Co-Tutor applicants: 1 year of teaching and assessing CPCAB counselling qualifications at level 4 or above.
