Cost Accountant - Marks Sattin : Job Details

Marks Sattin are recruiting for a Cost Accountant position based in Wolverhampton offering a competitive salary and significant benefits.

If you have notable experience as a Cost Accountant (or in a similar position) in tracking, analysing and reporting on costs to increase efficiency and profitability, then we want to hear from you.

You will play a crucial part of the operations, ensuring key stakeholders make informed decisions based on your expert analysis.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Provide product cost analysis, supporting insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Analyse fixed and variable costs (materials, labour, overheads) to determine total and per-unit production costs.
• Support implementation of standard costing, including introduction of Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Provide cost insights to aid in budgeting and forecasting, highlighting trends and variances.
• Collaborate across departments to share data and drive cost-saving initiatives.
• Monitor inventory levels, perform reconciliations, and analyse inventory valuation.
• Assess labour rates, depreciation, and overheads to recommend policy changes that enhance financial performance and cash flow.
• Prepare accurate and timely reports for senior management and contribute to monthly and year-end financial cycles.

Key Skills:

• Strong Mircrosoft Excel skills. Experience in using NetSuite and OneStream would also be an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of cost and product cost accounting and reporting, with proven experience in a similar role previously.
• Strong communication skills, and the ability to influence managers and stakeholders across departments.
