A well-established and busy law firm in Huddersfield is looking to recruit an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join its successful residential property team. This full-time, office-based role is ideal for someone with at least 12 months of hands-on experience in residential conveyancing, particularly in sales and purchases.
This is a client-facing role in a fast-paced legal environment, where you will play a key part in supporting solicitors and fee earners with a high-volume caseload. It offers a great opportunity for a proactive and professional candidate looking to develop their career in conveyancing within a supportive and collaborative team.
Key responsibilities:
- Opening new client files and entering information into the case management system
- Preparing standard legal documents, including draft sale contracts and initial correspondence
- Ordering property searches and assisting with the preparation of client reports
- Managing transactions in line with firm procedures and timelines
- Supporting exchanges, completions, and all post-completion formalities
- Communicating professionally with clients, solicitors, estate agents, and other third parties
- Handling incoming and outgoing post and assisting with billing, filing, and general office admin

- At least 12 months of experience in a conveyancing assistant or administrative support role
- Practical knowledge of residential property sales and purchase transactions
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in IT systems and able to type accurately
- Ability to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines
