Shape the Future of Rail Contracts and Commercial OperationsWe’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Contracts Manager to join our clients Fleet Commercial Team. In this role, you’ll lead the management of commercial and contractual arrangements with third-party customers—ensuring contracts align with operational needs, support long-term strategy, and deliver strong commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Development: Contribute to the wider commercial and engineering strategy by aligning contractual planning with key business milestones.

  • Commercial & Contractual Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for third-party customers, ensuring contracts are fit-for-purpose and support future growth.

  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders including senior leadership, operational managers, finance, and legal teams to ensure cohesive commercial delivery.

  • Operational Readiness: Support changes in infrastructure, contract modifications, and ensure seamless operations across the fleet network.

  • Revenue Maximisation: Balance customer needs with internal priorities, identifying commercial opportunities while managing risk.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with sites and partners across the region, including involvement with high-profile fleet projects.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Skilled in negotiating and managing complex contracts, budgets, and financial planning

  • Able to assess, challenge, and improve contractual arrangements strategically

  • A clear and confident communicator, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels

  • Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently

  • Skilled at building strong, effective relationships both internally and externally

  • Experienced in the rail industry (preferred but not essential)

Location & Travel

The role is based in Heaton, with regular travel required to other operational sites across the North of England including Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, and York.

Salary : 45000 - 50000
