Job Title: Contentious Probate Solicitor

The Role:
As a Contentious Probate Solicitor, you will become an integral part of a busy fee-earning team, managing a varied caseload and developing strong client relationships. This role is ideal for a solicitor with at least 3 years’ PQE in dispute resolution, with a focus on contentious probate matters.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing your own portfolio of clients through effective marketing, networking and cross-referrals
- Managing a range of dispute resolution matters, including court proceedings, providing clear legal advice in writing, by phone, and in meetings
- Undertaking advocacy where appropriate
- Ensuring strict compliance with policies, procedures and Lexcel standards
- Managing client expectations and mitigating risks
- Handling new client enquiries and ensuring excellent conversion rates
- Efficient case and file management
- Supporting and mentoring more junior colleagues
- Keeping up to date with CPD and changes in the law
- Contributing to marketing initiatives such as webinars and podcasts
- Representing the firm at charity and networking events
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in dispute resolution, with contentious probate experience being highly desirable
- A genuine pride in delivering high-quality legal work
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with a wide range of clients and colleagues
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency with case management systems and Microsoft Office
- The ability to manage your workload efficiently and meet deadlines and targets
- A flexible and collaborative approach, able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent file management and organisational skills
