Role Overview

Savills Earth in London is looking to add a consultant to its Social Value Team to assist with a growing and diverse portfolio of instructions. We are looking for someone with up to 1 years experience, ideally with experience in the social value sector and with project management/assistant project management experience. Typically, your role will involve managing your own workload, assisting the senior team members on large instructions, and screening and scoping exercises, undertaking social value research and enquiries, drafting and finessing reports and submissions, as well as assisting with the management of the team’s caseload and its business development activities. The role is London based with an element of hybrid working as an option. 

Key Responsibilities

• Understand the role social value plays across the built environment.• Undertake research and analysis.• Prepare social value reports, including supplementary planning documents and social value statements. • Write social value based reports, interpreting data and making clear and relevant recommendations.• Carry out stakeholder mapping exercises prior to any formal engagement.• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to promote social value.• Liaise and cultivate good relationships with clients, fellow professionals and community partners.• Develop creative and original strategies to satisfy all parties.• Bid writing and tender responses for social value questions.• Communicate and negotiate effectively with clients and colleagues.• Take responsibility for projects from the earliest stages through to completion.• An understanding of social value measurement and the various methodologies in the market.• Keep informed about documents relating to social value policy and practice.• Build relationships with other divisions within Savills. • Attend external events to create local contacts and identify business opportunities.• Travel to project locations e to meet clients and community partners. 

Key Skills

• Report writing.• Communication skills (verbal and written).• Ability to identify and interpret data. • Excellent interpersonal skills.• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.• Strong theoretical and practical understanding of social value measurement.• Good knowledge of the National Themes, Outcomes and Measures Framework (TOM's) and other social value measurement tools.

This position of Senior Social Value Consultant is an important role in the Savills Earth Team, to help deliver a wide range of exciting and high profile projects. The Social Value Team works on a wide range of projects across the country from offices in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, Leeds and Cardiff plus many more. While a large part of the role will be devoted to our diverse range of existing social value lead projects, the successful candidate can also expect to work on other projects including city centre regeneration, strategic land, planning, rural and logistics.
