Job Description :
Summary

We’re looking for a Consultancy Manager to join us in the Midlands and East of England region. This role puts you at the heart of the Trust’s ambitions: finding innovative ways of bringing them to life, leading for change and developing successful and effective teams.

What it's like to work here

This is a regional role, but you'll focus on supporting a portfolio of 3 or 4 properties, working in close partnership with their General Managers, across the full range of our work. You’ll lead a team of specialists in marketing and communications, fundraising, audience development and membership. You'll play a leadership role in the delivery of our strategy for ‘Growing Support’ and ‘Everyone Welcome’.

You’ll be part of the Midlands and East of England Consultancy: a multidisciplinary team of experts, from curators and coastal specialists to project managers and archaeologists, who provide specialist consultancy advice to the places we care for, to help make things happen.

As this role covers the Midlands and East of England region, your contractual place of work will be the nearest National Trust property to your home. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.

What you'll be doing

This is a senior management role, working across the full breadth of the Trust’s work, but with a particular focus on growing support for our charity. You’ll build strong partnerships with General Managers of Trust places throughout the region to make sure that projects are set up well, run efficiently and completed on time and budget. You’ll manage and deploy your team, making sure things get done at pace, and you’ll broker the right resources from the right people, locally and nationally, to ensure this happens. You'll also take on a variety of leadership roles for the whole region, perhaps steering elements of the Trust’s strategy, developing the consultancy or influencing national programmes and initiatives.

Who we're looking for

We’d love to hear from you if this sounds like you:

  • qualified or experienced in a specialism such as marketing, audience development, heritage, conservation or third sector environments
  • able to lead a team covering a wide geographical area, with a culture of inclusivity and diversity
  • dedicated to sustainability and tackling climate change.
  • a skilled communicator, who can build strong relationships within diverse teams, both internally and externally
  • a flexible thinker and problem-solver, skilled at negotiating and building productive networks, and confident in using your expertise to influence decisions
  • proactive and organised, with experience of managing projects and a talent for multi-tasking and getting things done, strongly focused on detail, quality, cost and time
  • a leader for inclusion, who finds ways to create an inclusive culture.
The package
