A leading Further Education College is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Carpentry Technician to support its Construction department. ?? Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain workshop tools, equipment, and materials for carpentry and joinery sessions.
- Support lecturers during practical lessons, ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment.
- Monitor and maintain health and safety standards within the workshop.
- Assist in setting up demonstrations and practical assessments.
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on tools and machinery.
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Provide technical advice and support to students during practical sessions.
- Ensure the workshop is clean, organised, and compliant with college policies.
? Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification in Carpentry, Joinery, or Construction (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
- Experience working in a workshop or construction environment.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and students.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Basic IT skills for inventory and maintenance records.
- A proactive and hands-on approach to supporting practical learning.
