Job Location : Manchester, UK
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, challenging and inspiring lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, preparing learners for success in the GCSE Computer Science curriculum.
This role is to start September 2025.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to grow in a supportive and well-resourced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver outstanding Computer Science lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, including GCSE preparation
Plan and teach well-structured, differentiated lessons in line with the national curriculum and department schemes of work
Foster a classroom culture of curiosity, innovation, and digital responsibility
Use data effectively to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to support student achievement
Set, mark, and assess work, providing high-quality feedback in line with school policy
Support students in developing coding, computational thinking, and problem-solving skills
Contribute to curriculum development and the integration of emerging technologies
Lead or support extracurricular computing activities such as coding clubs, digital competitions, or robotics challenges
Collaborate with department colleagues and attend regular CPD to continually develop subject knowledge and pedagogy
Maintain high expectations of behaviour, attendance, and punctuality
Uphold the school’s values, safeguarding policies, and commitment to inclusion
Essential Criteria:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
Degree in Computer Science or a related subject
Experience teaching Computer Science in a secondary school setting (including delivery of GCSE content)
Proficient in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, Scratch)
Strong understanding of the national curriculum and exam board requirements (e.g., OCR, AQA)
Excellent behaviour management and organisational skills
Passionate about the transformative power of technology in education
