Compliance Officer - Hybrid/Remote - Insurance £40-45,000 per annum

Role Summary

The Compliance Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the company meets its regulatory obligations under the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) framework, especially as they relate to Income Protection products. They will contribute to maintaining and enhancing the compliance framework, support training initiatives, assist in regulatory reporting, and provide practical advice to internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of the compliance framework
  • Conduct thematic reviews and provide feedback for improvement
  • Interpret and apply FCA regulations and relevant legislation
  • Manage compliance-related queries and offer informed advice to staff
  • Maintain up-to-date records of policies, procedures, and regulatory correspondence
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure compliance is embedded into operations
  • Support ongoing compliance education and awareness across the business

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will bring professionalism, strong attention to detail, and collaborative outlook. They will have:

  • 2-3 years' experience in a compliance role, ideally within insurance or financial services
  • Solid understanding of FCA regulations and knowledge of the FCA handbook
  • Ability to communicate regulatory matters clearly and supportively across the business
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage competing priorities
  • A commitment to ethical standards and fair customer treatment
  • Qualifications (or working towards) such as:
    • ICA Certificate or Diploma in Compliance
    • CII Certificate in Insurance or Compliance Pathway
