We’re working with a leading national waste management company to recruit a Community Outreach Coordinator for an exciting opportunity based in the London Borough of Havering. This vital role will support efforts to promote sustainable waste management, build community awareness, and enhance environmental outcomes through education, engagement, and data-led initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support residents and stakeholders with recycling and waste-related queries

  • Analyse performance data, compile reports, and present findings to the local Council

  • Monitor and report on KPI data, ensuring transparency and accuracy

  • Manage the annual Community Benefit Plan to maximise social value across the borough

  • Lead outreach to promote services to residents, community groups, businesses, and other local stakeholders

  • Support the Council on targeted campaigns around waste reduction, recycling contamination, and clean street initiatives

  • Contribute to news articles and social media content on environmental issues and services

  • Plan and deliver waste education workshops at local schools, events, and roadshows

  • Produce well-structured reports and documents for internal teams, clients, and public dissemination

  • Represent the organisation at Council meetings and presentations, offering insights into contract performance and services

  • Assist in identifying and developing service improvements, especially in areas related to reuse and recycling

About You:

  • Strong communicator with a passion for sustainability and community engagement

  • Comfortable presenting to groups and working collaboratively with councils, schools, and the public

  • Confident handling data and reporting to professional standards

  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects with social impact goals

  • Previous experience in waste management, community outreach, education, or local government engagement is a plus
