Purpose of the Role:

As the Committees Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Council's decision-making processes are transparent, efficient, and compliant with best practises. You will lead a team that is instrumental in facilitating scrutiny and governance, while also promoting active citizenship and public engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Committees Team, fostering a collaborative and proactive working environment.
• Ensure that all decision-making processes adhere to the Council's constitution, internal standards, and relevant legislation.
• Support and promote public participation in the Council's decision-making processes, empowering citizens to engage actively.
• Oversee the preparation and delivery of committee meetings, reports, and documentation.
• Collaborate closely with elected members, stakeholders, and the public to enhance democratic services.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience: Proven background in Democratic Services or Scrutiny, with a strong understanding of governance processes.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated team management experience, inspiring and guiding your team to deliver exceptional results.
• Political Savvy: Comfortable working in a political environment, navigating the complexities of local governance.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
