Associate, Commercial Contracts, 2–6 PQE

Birmingham, Hybrid

£68,000–£80,000 plus bonus

A leading international law firm is looking to appoint a Commercial Contracts Associate to its Birmingham office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established national commercial team that advises high-profile clients on a broad range of complex, strategic and day-to-day matters.

The Role

You will work on a wide variety of commercial arrangements for clients across transport, utilities, industrial engineering and related sectors. The work includes long-term strategic projects as well as routine commercial contracts, and you will collaborate regularly with colleagues in corporate, real estate and specialist practice groups.

You will:

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad spectrum of commercial agreements
• Provide commercial input on cross-practice matters
• Work closely with partners across the UK and internationally
• Support client development through briefings, articles and market updates

About You

This role is ideal for an Associate with 2–6 PQE who is looking to build their experience within a highly regarded global practice. You should have:

• Strong drafting and contract law skills
• The ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines
• A client-focused approach with strong communication skills
• Confidence researching, using precedents and analysing commercial risk
• A collaborative mindset, with some experience supporting junior colleagues being beneficial
