We are recruiting for a Commercial - Plumber - Multi Trade with a strong plumbing background to work within the Repairs and Maintenance Service.

The role involves carrying out a variety of repairs and installations in occupied and void properties, with a particular focus on bathroom and kitchen replacements, plumbing, and associated multi-trade works. You'll be delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service - ensuring repairs are completed right first time.

Key responsibilities include:

• Completing bathroom and kitchen replacements, plumbing, tiling, and general maintenance works.
• Carrying out additional multi-trade tasks (carpentry, plastering, flooring, locks, UPVC repairs).
• Working across both planned and responsive repairs in occupied homes and communal areas.
• Recording work updates on a PDA and reporting any follow-on jobs.
• Ensuring all work meets health & safety standards, with correct use of PPE.
• Representing the council in a professional manner, including use of uniform and ID.

You'll be joining a forward-thinking local authority repairs service, dedicated to maintaining and improving residents' homes across Newham. The service takes pride in providing a responsive, right-first-time approach to repairs, ensuring high standards of quality and customer care.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• NVQ Level 2 (minimum) in Plumbing or equivalent trade qualification (City & Guilds).
• Proven experience in kitchen and bathroom replacements within a housing or domestic repairs setting.
• Multi-trade skills (e.g., tiling, carpentry, flooring, plaster repairs).
• Knowledge of health & safety legislation and safe working practices.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• A full UK driving licence (essential, company van provided).
• CSCS card and asbestos awareness training (desirable).
