Collections Advisor

- Working Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) 8:45 – 17:15 – additional hours may be required.
My client is seeking a dedicated Collections Advisors to join their team in Basingstoke. The ideal candidate will provide an effective and efficient collections process, control and remedy cases of customer arrears and default, and engage in proactive debt chasing and issue resolution.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Monitor new and existing arrears cases, actively chasing all monies due on unpaid customer invoices primarily by telephone, and where appropriate, email and/or letter.
- Focus particularly on larger arrears cases and those with a high likelihood of loss, communicating progress to line management and following guidance as required.
- Take corrective action in cases of arrears due to administrative errors, ensuring root cause issues are addressed and escalated to line management where necessary.
- Report and work to resolve cases where partner actions are causing arrears or preventing collection.
- Respond accurately and promptly to general queries regarding arrears cases from both customers and internal staff, maintaining focus on collection and/or avoidance of loss.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working within a Customer Service and Collections environment.
- Confident telephone manner and excellent communication skills.
- Proven time and task management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, open-plan office environment.
- Flexibility to work additional hours on an ad-hoc basis as required.
