Cloud Engineer / Microsoft 365 / Azure Engineer

Berkshire - Hybrid or Onsite

Salary Range:

£55,000 - £70,000 (depending on experience)

Role Summary:We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cloud Engineer with expertise in Microsoft 365 and Azure to manage, maintain, and optimise our cloud infrastructure and modern workplace technologies. You will play a critical role in ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient cloud services across Microsoft's ecosystem, supporting both project delivery and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and support Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Intune)

• Manage and optimise Azure infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS), including VMs, Azure AD, networking, storage, and automation

• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate cloud administration tasks

• Ensure security compliance and governance across M365 and Azure environments

• Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure performance and availability

• Work on cloud migration, identity/access management (Entra ID), and hybrid cloud projects

• Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams on cloud best practices

• Provide escalation support for technical issues and participate in project delivery

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and PowerShell

• Proficient in Azure AD, Intune, Conditional Access, and Exchange Online

• Experience with Azure IaaS/PaaS (e.g., VMs, Load Balancers, Storage, App Services)

• Knowledge of identity and access management, device compliance, and hybrid environments

• Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Security Center, and Defender for Cloud

• Understanding of cloud networking, DNS, and firewalls

• Experience in ITIL-based service environments is desirable

• Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., AZ-104, MS-100/101, AZ-305) preferred
