The RoleAs a Client Manager, you will take ownership of a designated portfolio of clients, acting as their primary point of contact and ensuring they receive timely, accurate, and value-adding support. Alongside core compliance work, you'll also play a key role in building relationships, spotting opportunities, and contributing to the firm's growth.
Day-to-day, you will:
Prepare year-end accounts for clients using IRIS
Prepare corporation tax returns and self-assessment tax returns (for company directors and tax-only clients)
Review annual accounts prepared by peers and VAT returns where required
Act as client manager, ensuring prompt query responses, profitable job completion, and agreed timescales are met
Conduct pre year-end and post year-end meetings/calls with clients
Review client pricing annually and agree on fees for additional work
Prepare management accounts and attend client meetings where possible
Maintain Xero certification and leverage add-on apps and EPOS systems
Ensure compliance with AML reporting for your client group
Drive a culture of continuous improvement across your portfolio
Support with other ad hoc tasks as directed by the firm's directors
We're looking for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, thrives on variety, and brings a proactive, problem-solving approach.
You'll ideally be:
Professionally qualified (ACCA/ICAS/ACA), part-qualified or qualified by experience within practice
Experienced in preparing accounts, corporation tax, and self-assessment returns
Confident in managing client relationships and delivering a high standard of service
Familiar with cloud accounting software (Xero certification essential)
Organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a varied workload
Commercially aware, with the ability to spot opportunities to add value to clients
