Clerk of Works - Nights - Local Authority - Reed : Job Details

• Working Hours: 7pm to 5am, Monday to Friday

We are seeking a Clerk of Works for the Traffic Management, Road Safety and Highway Adoptions Team to supervise the construction of a Section 278 Scheme. This role involves overseeing the signalisation of a motorway junction, incorporating controlled pedestrian crossing facilities and associated shared surface routes around the gyratory. The position requires night shifts and offers flexibility in pay.

• Supervise the construction works on the public highway to ensure compliance with approved drawings, traffic management arrangements, permits, and method statements.
• Monitor and ensure the quality of workmanship and materials meet the required standards.
• Maintain detailed records of the construction process, including compliance checks and coordination activities.
• Communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure smooth operation and adherence to safety protocols.
• Address and resolve any issues that arise during the construction phase promptly.

• Extensive experience in supervisory roles related to construction works on public highways.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Excellent record-keeping and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions on site.
• Comfortable with night shifts and flexible working arrangements as required by project demands.
