Class 1 HGV Driver - Right Now Recruitment : Job Details

Right Now Group are looking for a Class 1 HGV Driver to join our client based at Heathrow that specialise in Cargo Handling and Screening.

The ideal candidate will have experience with delivering secure export cargo into the airline sheds at LHR aswell as collecting imports. The main function of this role is to deliver to the sheds but the ideal candidate does also need to be flexible as you may be requested to collect / deliver to other UK airports occasionally.

Job Responsibilities of a Class 1 HGV Driver:

• The primary responsibility is to safely transport airfreight cargo to and from the airlines at London Heathrow Airport.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo onto and off the vehicle. This may involve using equipment such as pump trucks, forklifts and other loading/unloading machinery.
• Ensure that documentation matches the cargo you would be delivering / collecting and ensure that all POD's are kept daily.
• Adhere to strict security protocols and procedures when handling airfreight cargo, including compliance with air cargo security regulations and maintaining the integrity and security of cargo during transportation.

The successful Class 1 HGV Driver:

• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Full UK Driving Licence with relevant C+E Qualification and CPC
• Ability to pass a full 5 year background check and clean DBS (Criminal Record Check)

More Details:

Shift: Monday - Friday (Additional overtime available on a Saturday)

Hours: 11:00 - 21:00 / 12:00 - 22:00

Salary: £37,500
