Children’s Residential Support Worker - Solo Service (EBD)Location: SmethwickSalary: £23,800 - £26,950 per annum (dependent on experience)Sleep-in Pay: £50 per sleep-inRota Pattern: 1 long day on (07:30 - 23:00), followed by a sleep-in and 2 days offContract Type: Full-Time, PermanentDriving Requirement: Must hold a full UK manual or automatic driving licence

We are supporting our client in the recruitment of a Children’s Residential Support Worker for a solo children’s residential provision in Smethwick, supporting a young person with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a focused, one-to-one care environment where you can have a meaningful impact on a young person’s life. The role offers a consistent and structured rota, supporting work-life balance while delivering quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred care to a young person with EBD
  • Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the child
  • Promote independence, routine, education, and emotional wellbeing
  • Support daily living tasks, appointments, and activities
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and behaviour management strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning
  • Work as part of a small, dedicated team

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a residential or similar care setting
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
  • Understanding of Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
  • Resilient, empathetic, and able to remain calm under pressure
  • Willingness to work on a 1-on, 2-off rolling rota including sleep-ins
  • Full UK manual or automatic driving licence (essential)
