Job Title: Registered Manager
Inspired Living (South West) Ltd
Background: Inspired Living (South West) is currently establishing its first two children’s homes: one in Exeter for 4 young people, and one in Taunton for 5 young people. We anticipate opening these, the first of many homes across the South West, at the end of 2025 (Exeter) and in Q2 2026 (Taunton).

Inspired Living is not motivated by making money. Instead, we are focussed on changing one young person’s life at a time. We also will reward our team with the best employment terms we can give, recognising that our homes are only as good as our team, so our team should be the people who are most looked after and rewarded for their excellence.
Being based in the South West of England we also are located in a superb environment to live and work in, which also offers the role holder a perfect opportunity for a balanced and fulfilling life close to the cost, the moors, and in excellent locations, outside of the role.

- Foster a strong team culture rooted in supervision, reflection, inclusion, and continuous development.
- Oversee recruitment, induction, shift planning, appraisals, and staff performance management.
- Maintain high-quality records and ensure readiness for Ofsted inspections, Regulation 44 visits, and audits.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children, professionals, commissioners, and families.
- Monitor care plans, risk assessments, and ensure responsive, empowering approaches to every child’s journey.
- Model emotionally intelligent leadership that balances accountability with support and curiosity.
Essential Attributes:
- Significant experience in residential childcare with children who have experienced developmental trauma.
- Deep understanding of safeguarding legislation, The Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and Ofsted Quality Standards.
- Proven experience in staff leadership, reflective supervision, and values-based culture building.
- Emotionally resilient and relationally attuned—able to lead during crisis while holding a child-focused lens.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
- Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- At least 2 years’ experience as a residential manager of a children’s home.
Desirable:
- Experience as a Registered Manager or senior leader in a therapeutic or trauma-informed setting.
- Familiarity with Regulation 44 and 45 processes and response management.
- Knowledge of approaches such as PACE, restorative practice, narrative work, or sensory regulation.
- Commitment to reflective, adaptive leadership and continuous improvement.
