Job Description :

I am recruiting for Residential Support workers for Doncaster Council who are a national provider of accommodation for young people between the ages of 10 to 18 who are on placed within the care system and children with disabilities in a respite setting. The is for homes across the City of Doncaster.

This is a perm role full time role and the salary ranges from £24.044 till £26.740 with sleep in duties or waking nights.This is a great opportunity with great benefits.The purpose of the role is to provide safe, supportive and positive care to all children and young people.Duties and ResponsibilitiesActing as a cooperate parent.Active involvement in all aspects of the care of Children and young people, seeking to meet their emotional, social and physical needs.Being involved in Children and Young people monitoring and reviewing their progress.Actively contribute towards overall care through Care Planning and link working, formulating, participating and involving Children and Young People in their individual care plan.Participate in reviews and case conferences when needed.Record keeping.Assist Children and Young People through periods of illness, emotional or behavioural difficulties seeking medical or other assistance and support as appropriate.Help to achieve the smooth running of all aspects of the home and participate in domestic/household activities such as cooking and cleaning whilst promoting semi-independence.Develop and maintain good relationships with the neighbourhood and community as a whole, parents, teachers, social workers, other agencies and professional colleagues, as appropriate to the needs of individual service users.Adhere to health and safety procedures.Strict confidentiality in respect of residents, families and colleagues will be maintained.Previous experience paid or voluntary work, with children and young people.Able to work flexibly and beyond normal hours, if required, at times of crisis.Full and comprehensive training is provided including the L3 QCF qualification as people need to work in children’s homes which is an ‘A’ level equivalent and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training (which will also be provided)There are some great benefits!The council offer 28 days annual leave rising to 33 after 5 years plus 8 Bank Hols for all grades and provide a pension though the Local Government Pension Scheme into with the Council pay 17%.
