Your Company:A leading business services organisation is seeking a highly accomplished Chief Financial Officer to join its senior leadership team, based in London. As part of its ongoing growth and strategic development, the Board is seeking to appoint its first dedicated CFO - a commercially minded and hands-on finance leader to build and lead a high-performing finance function, strengthen governance, and support scalable international growth.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesWhile in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Building and leading a high-performing, business-partnering finance function that supports commercial decision-making, scalability, and sustainable growth across UK and US operations.
  • Overhauling financial systems, management reporting, and controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all entities and jurisdictions.
  • Designing and implementing project accounting processes to ensure appropriate GAAP treatment and enable performance analysis by project, client, and business line.
  • Delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, cashflows, balance sheets, and KPI dashboards, ensuring information is Board-ready and audit-compliant.
  • Establishing robust financial controls, governance frameworks, and operational policies covering procurement, credit control, treasury, and bank management.
  • Leading the consolidation and integration of finance systems across geographies into a single, scalable platform fit for future growth.
  • Managing working capital, forecasting, and treasury to ensure effective cash and resource management across the business.
  • Overseeing tax, VAT, payroll, intercompany accounting, and statutory reporting, engaging with auditors and external advisors as required.
  • Driving financial strategy, pricing discipline, and margin improvement initiatives to enhance profitability and commercial performance.
  • Partnering with senior leadership to support strategic initiatives including international expansion, new market entry, commercial agreements, and potential M&A activity.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing the finance team, embedding clear performance metrics and career progression frameworks.
  • Acting as a trusted business partner to the CEOs and senior management, translating financial insights into actionable strategies that support growth and operational excellence.
  • Managing company secretarial matters and ensuring compliance across all jurisdictions.
What You Will Need to Apply:   The ideal candidate will be an experienced Chief Financial Officer or Finance Director with a proven track record of leading finance functions within dynamic, project-based, or service-led environments such as marketing, creative production, or events industries. They will hold a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) and possess extensive experience in transforming finance teams, embedding data-driven and commercially focused practices, and driving operational excellence. The successful candidate will demonstrate hands-on expertise in management accounting, project accounting, cash management, and multi-jurisdictional reporting, with a strong ability to design, select, and implement financial systems that support scalable growth. Experience working across UK and US entities, including managing tax, compliance, and payroll processes, will be highly advantageous, as will a proven history of engaging effectively with auditors, advisors, financial institutions, and shareholders. Combining a strategic mindset with a practical, delivery-focused approach, the individual will display exceptional leadership capability, cultural alignment, and personal accountability, reflecting the company’s collaborative, creative, and fast-paced culture.What You Will Get in Return:The company offers a competitive salary of around £150,000 per annum, complemented by a significant equity participation package, reflecting the strategic importance of this role.
