Job Description :

Our client is a national newsletter based in Central London and is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to lead their social investment arm on a permanent basis. The position is due to start immediately and the salary is negotiable dependent upon experience.

The ideal candidate must be a fully qualified Accountant possess strong financial accounting skills. They will also be comfortable managing concurrent workflows and have experience of complex cash-flow structures.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing the outputs of the Assistant Management Accountant & shared services finance team
  • Completing the consolidated management accounts and presentation to the board
  • Completing the cashflow forecasts split across the 5 legal entities
  • Accounting for the loan portfolio and overseeing transfer of data from the loan management system into the accounting system
  • Preparing periodical bespoke reports for senior stakeholders within the group, from the risk & audit committees to the Board of Directors
  • Overseeing the annual budgeting process and guiding the Senior Management Team through the process
  • Acting as the lead with external auditors to deliver a smooth year end process across all five legal entities
  • Adapting Group financial systems and controls to both ensure compliance with policy and maximise efficiency

Experience required:

  • Fully Qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
  • Experience of complex cash flow structures
  • Strong financial accounting skills
  • Cash Management - experience of managing cash across multiple bank accounts
  • Good at directing multiple workflows, both internal & external
  • Strong at producing management accounts for a variety of stakeholders, able to update/modify & improve existing reports.
  • Good with Excel, able to amend complex workbooks
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Be able to engage with non-finance stakeholders throughout the business and at board level

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
