We are seeking a dedicated Chef Lecturer to join our team, specialising in teaching Level 3 Patisserie and Confectionery and Level 2 Culinary Skills. This role involves both practical and theoretical teaching. The position is based in Harpurhey and offers a competitive pay rate of £30 per hour. The working days are Monday and Thursday full day, and Wednesday morning.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver engaging and informative lessons in both practical and theoretical aspects of patisserie, confectionery, and culinary skills.
- Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials that meet curriculum goals and objectives.
- Conduct assessments and provide feedback to students on their progress.
- Maintain a positive and stimulating learning environment that fosters passion and enthusiasm for culinary arts.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance the curriculum and student learning experience.
- Keep up-to-date with current trends in culinary arts to ensure the relevance of the course content.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a chef with specific skills in patisserie and confectionery.
- Previous teaching experience in culinary arts, ideally at both theoretical and practical levels.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students and staff.
- Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise work effectively.
- Passion for culinary arts and education.
