Job Title: ChefStart Date: ASAPPay Rate: £15.75 per hourLocation: Kelso (TD5)Hours: Monday to Thursday (6:30am-2:15pm) and Friday (7am-11am)Contract Length: 12 weeks initially with possibility of extensionMain Duties:

• Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch for approximately 150 people daily, ensuring high standards of taste, presentation, and food safety.
• Assist in planning and executing daily menus in line with dietary requirements and customer preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the open kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
• Collaborate effectively with a small kitchen team to ensure smooth service and timely meal delivery.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory management as needed.
• Ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of ingredients to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking food and drink orders accurately.
• Maintain and follow a cleaning schedule for all kitchen equipment, surfaces, and food preparation areas.

Key Skills:

• Proven experience in contract catering, ideally in high-volume environments.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations.
• Ability to consistently prepare quality meals for large groups (approx. 150 people daily).
• Excellent time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Skilled in working as part of a small, collaborative team.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing menu or service requirements.
• Strong communication skills with both team members and service staff.
