CBM Engineer - Vibration & LubricationReading - HybridSalary to £51k plus good benefits packageA leading UK utilities provider is seeking a talented CBM (Condition-Based Maintenance) Engineer with expertise in vibration and lubrication to support their drive towards a smarter, systems-led maintenance strategy.This role is key to delivering a proactive, data-driven approach to asset care and will involve supporting both operational teams and project functions. The successful candidate will be part of a forward-thinking engineering team during a significant period of investment and transformation.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine vibration-based condition monitoring on critical mechanical assets
- Analyse data trends and provide clear, actionable recommendations to engineering and operational teams
- Conduct lubrication surveys and support thermography processes
- Contribute to the creation of new maintenance strategies based on asset data and lifecycle cost
- Ensure accurate data capture, route planning and database management
- Work with project teams to advise on condition monitoring requirements and specification of equipment
- Follow up on condition-triggered maintenance activities to verify outcomes
Requirements:
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Vibration Analysis Level 2 (BINDT or Mobius) – essential
- Thermography and Machine Lubricant Analysis (Level 1 ISO 18436-4, I) – desirable
- Strong experience in analysing condition monitoring data and presenting findings
- Ability to configure software and create asset routes for data collection
- Confident communicator, capable of translating technical findings into practical actions
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Experience:
- Lubrication specification and condition-based recommendations
- Engineering experience in an operational or maintenance environment
- Ability to lead or support technical discussions with cross-functional teams
