A nationally recognised builders' merchant is on the lookout for a commercially sharp Category Manager to lead one of its most important product areas. This role offers real autonomy and impact, with full responsibility for strategy, supplier performance, and category growth.

• Define and deliver the commercial strategy for a major product category

• Manage pricing, promotions, and supplier negotiations to drive results

• Use market insight and data to optimise ranges, stock, and margins

• Own the full category P&L, collaborating with cross-functional teams

• Balance customer needs with commercial priorities in a fast-paced trade environment

• Experience in category or buying roles - ideally within trade, retail, or distribution

• Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills

• Confidence managing large SKU counts and supplier relationships

• A proactive mindset and passion for delivering commercial success
