Category Manager - Elevation Recruitment Group : Job Details

Category Manager Up to £50,000Birmingham, West Midlands (2 Days on Site) Excellent Benefits Package including Hybrid Working, CIPS Training, Free Travel, and more! As a Category Manager, you will oversee the contractual relationships between the business and various stakeholders, including the Department for Transport (DfT), ensuring alignment with business objectives and National Rail Contract (NRC) commitments. You will serve as a key liaison across all business directorates, guiding procurement activities in adherence to relevant policies and regulations. Key Responsibilities:

• Guide and support procurement activities in line with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Manage tendering processes for indirect purchases across multiple company directorates
• Negotiate and prepare contracts to fulfil business requirements and franchise commitments
• Liaise with the Client Relationships & Contracts Team and DfT for contract approvals
• Provide commercial and contractual advice as needed
• Act as the primary contact with external legal advisors regarding contracts
• Attend contract review meetings and provide management reporting
• Assist in reviewing and enhancing procurement policies and procedures
• Support the Head of Client Relationships & Contracts in meeting business needs
• Navigate a challenging environment, communicating effectively within the company and with external organisations
• Adhere to Abellio Group Procurement Policy and WMT Procurement Strategy

Experience & Skills Required:

• Demonstrated experience in Category Management for large organisations
• Familiarity with Utilities Contract Regulations
• Proficiency in contract management and negotiation
• Ability to interpret complex legal documents
• Strong commercial and financial acumen
• Experience working with legal advisors
• Negotiation and influencing skills
• Multitasking ability to manage conflicting deadlines
• Strong communication skills
• Team player
