Quest Search and Selection are recruiting for a Category Director - Consumer Electronics where you will lead the strategy, procurement, and sales performance of key SDA, MDA, and home electronics categories—delivering value-driven, high-demand products across cooking, cleaning, refrigeration, and kitchen appliances.

Your leadership will be instrumental in expanding market presence, enhancing operational efficiency, and elevating the customer experience through data-led decision making and innovative procurement strategies.

The company is partnering with one of the biggest ecommerce retail platforms. This e-commerce retail platform with operations in the UK & Europe, is currently growing their non-food category team! Role and Responsibilities of this Category Director - Consumer Electronics :

• Take full ownership of purchasing and sales for your designated categories, driving both GMV and gross profit margins to success.
• Lead the charge in sales planning—from crafting business strategies to overseeing the full scope of the procurement roadmap.
• Spearhead buying negotiations by identifying top-tier partners, onboarding products, negotiating deals, controlling costs, and ensuring accurate fee management—all while keeping pricing sharp.
• Shape the future of the product lineup through strategic product selection, tailoring offerings to suit diverse consumer scenarios.
• Be the bridge for resource coordination with global supply chains, securing key support and unlocking operational efficiencies.
• Dive into data analysis—track sales and purchasing performance, recommend data-driven optimizations, and work toward improving profitability at every step.

Qualifications Required for this Category Director - Consumer Electronics:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in SDA & MDA purchasing and sales, ideally with a strong e-commerce background.

• Deep knowledge of the German home appliance market, with first-hand insight into the following product categories:

  • Cooking: Ovens, cooktops, range hoods, microwaves
  • Cleaning: Dishwashers, washing machines, dryers
  • Refrigeration: Refrigerators, freezers
  • Kitchen appliances: Toasters, kettles, coffee makers, blenders, mixers, food processors, microwaves
  • Cleaning and heat & ventilation products

• A market-savvy professional with sharp purchasing instincts and a pulse on the latest trends.
• Have both English & German language skill set.
• Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, data-driven decision making, and top-tier communication abilities.
