Cash Allocation Assistant -2 year Fixed Term Contract

37 hours per week - Hybrid Working based in Epworth House, Derby

Salary - £25,300.00 per annum

Are you detail driven, process focused, and ready to make a real impact in a supportive finance team? MHA is looking for a Cash Allocation Assistant to join us on a two-year fixed term contract, supporting the day-to-day operations while we undergo an exciting period of finance transformation.

This role has been created to provide essential support to the Cash Allocation Team, allowing senior colleagues to focus on our new system implementation. Whilst this role isn’t directly involved in the project, it is a key part of ensuring operational stability and continuity through change.

In this role you will be, responsible for the accurate and timely allocation of all income, handle payment queries and resolve discrepancies.

You will work closely with the cash allocation operational finance teams to minimise unallocated payments

You will be joining a supportive, collaborative environment where contributions will help maintain operational excellence during a period of change.

 We are looking for a cash allocation assistant to support the accurate and timely allocation of payments from our residents. This role is essential to helping us manage income effectively and maintain smooth day to day operations.

What you will be doing

 Accurately allocate incoming payments across a range of accounts and systems.

  • Work closely with colleagues across teams to resolve queries and reconcile any discrepancies
  • Keep our records and systems up to date and audit ready
  • Handle resident contact with empathy and professionalism, ensuring our values come through in every interaction.

What are we looking for?

You don’t need to come from a charity background, just bring your skills, passion and commitment.

  • Experience in finance, accounts, or administration is ideal.
  • Comfortable using finance systems and confident in excel
  • Highly organised with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • A natural communicator who can collaborate and solve queries with care and clarity
  • You are aligned with our values and understand the importance of balancing compassion with financial responsibility.
