This role involves carrying out a full range of carpentry and joinery work, including installation, repair, and maintenance of doors, windows, flooring, staircases, skirting boards, kitchen units, and other woodwork. Duties:
- Carry out a full range of carpentry and joinery work, including installation, repair, and maintenance of doors, windows, flooring, staircases, skirting boards, kitchen units, and other woodwork.
- Undertake both planned maintenance and responsive repairs in residential and public buildings.
- Ensure all works are completed to agreed quality standards, within timescales, and in line with health and safety regulations.
- Work effectively on your own initiative and as part of a wider multi-trade maintenance team.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including materials used and time spent.
- Communicate professionally with tenants, service users, and colleagues to minimise disruption and provide excellent customer service.
- Use, maintain, and store tools and equipment safely and appropriately.
- Follow Local Authority policies and procedures, including safeguarding, equality and diversity, and safe systems of work.
Requirements:
- Desirable - Recognised qualification in Carpentry and Joinery (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a range of carpentry and joinery tasks, ideally within housing or property maintenance.
- Good understanding of building regulations, health & safety standards, and safe working practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver high-quality work with attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing workload effectively
