Caretaker / Maintenance Engineer - DBCharles Recruitment Limited : Job Details

DB Charles Recruitment are partnering with a fantastic business / site in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire to find a candidate for a Caretaker / Maintenance Engineer position on a permanent full time basis.

The role will be working at one particular site and will report into the Operations Manager. The position is a hands-on role ideal for someone not afraid to take on a variety of tasks, changing day by day and someone who takes great pride in high-quality maintenance upkeep and support.

The role will involve day to day duties / tasks including a number of the below:

• General caretaker & building maintenance tasks
• Aiding in minor repair works, which might include replacing or fixing door handles. Changing light fittings or basic plumbing.
• Internal / external painting & decorating
• Ensuring building compliance regulations are up to standard.
• Building & temperature regulation checks
• Liaising and organising 3rd party contractors as and when required
• Liaising and helping with onsite staff
• Liaising, helping and organising onsite security & cleaning teams
• Basic administration tasks

The client is seeking candidates with the following skill set & background:

• A previous background as a Caretaker / Handy-person / Maintenance Engineer / Facilities Manager
• Hands on maintenance approach
• Experience in skills such as plastering, decorating, basic plumbing or electrical work
• Strong communication skills with a professional presence
• Strong ability to work under pressure
• Excellent at multi tasking and working to tight deadlines
• Highly organised
• Able to commit to a full time onsite role at the business / site in Welwyn Garden City

The role is a full time permanent position, working Monday to Friday with hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm and the client will be paying the successful candidate on a weekly basis with the salary equating to £33,000 per annum.

The role is able to offer 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays and offers a private healthcare option after 6 months service.
