Join a Thriving Product Design Team as a CAD Design Engineer
Elevation Recruitments Design & Projects team are looking for a design engineer with 2D/3D CAD expertise to join a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment who are current leaders and innovators in their sector.
We’re on the lookout for 2-3 talented CAD Design Engineers to join a growing Product Development team based in Hull. This is your chance to contribute to a highly regarded, UK-leading manufacturer, renowned for delivering exceptional style, performance and value to its customers.
As part of a dynamic and supportive engineering function, you’ll play a key role in driving design excellence – from initial concept through to detailed manufacturing drawings and bill of materials. This is a place where your ideas are encouraged, and your technical input can shape future products.
Design Engineer Duties & Responsibilities:Creating, updating and maintaining manufacturing drawings and support data to the highest standards, ensuring accuracy, clarity and alignment with brand values
Contributing to continuous product and process improvement through innovative CAD-led design solutions – helping tackle weight, cost, and complexity
Collaborating with the wider engineering and production teams to meet project deadlines and exceed customer expectations
Ensuring that all modules and components meet regulatory compliance and approval requirements
Playing an active role in the development and optimisation of internal CAD systems and workflows
Providing detailed change impact assessments and participating in review meetings to support development from concept to completion
Experience working with CAD in a design or engineering office environment
Solid understanding of materials, assembly, and industry-specific manufacturing processes (any additional knowledge of injection moulding, extrusions, mouldings, modular, structural and more would be desirable)
Working knowledge of bills of materials (BOMs) and engineering change systems (MIR)
Strong eye for detail and precision, combined with excellent problem-solving skills
Enthusiastic, flexible, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a time-sensitive setting
A keen interest in emerging materials and design trends – particularly those contributing to sustainability and efficiency
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
