C&S Production Supervisor
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Cut and Screw Supervisor to lead operations within a busy pipe manufacturing environment. This is a key leadership role responsible for maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery performance.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will oversee production flow, support a skilled team, and collaborate with planning, transport, and maintenance functions to ensure on-time customer deliveries. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead daily briefings and performance reviews (SQCDP) to drive accountability and results.
- Mentor and coach team members, developing skills and fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Manage team HR processes including attendance, appraisals, and performance development.
- Identify training needs and implement upskilling programs.
Production & Planning
- Oversee production schedules to meet customer and operational targets.
- Provide accurate resource planning and liaise daily with transport/works teams.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Performance & Improvement
- Monitor live production data, track downtime, and drive improvements.
- Lead structured problem-solving activities (A3, RCA, PDCA, 8D).
- Support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives, including 5S.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections to ensure "right first time" results and minimise rework.
- Perform risk assessments and maintain high standards of workplace safety.
- Prepare and deliver daily performance reports.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- IOSH qualification.
- ILM Level 3 (or equivalent leadership qualification).
- Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience in manufacturing.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Ability to prioritise, multitask, and perform under pressure.
Desirable:
- Exposure to Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience in pipework or related manufacturing environments.
