Buyer - Finlay Jude Associates Limited : Job Details

FJA are working with a national leader in the Water industry, who are looking to recruit a Category Buyer. The role will be based out of their offices in the Peterborough area.   The role is a permanent full time position.   Responsibilities of a Category Buyer: As a Category Buyer, you’ll be responsible for the generating of purchase orders and contract numbers for goods and services across Water Recycling and Water programme areas.You’ll drive efficiencies by bringing enthusiasm and innovation to our ways of working whilst applying good negotiation skills and working collaboratively with key stakeholders throughout the organisation. 

• Manage the materials master codes in association with the materials catalogue
• Ensure all orders are generated and issued to the key stakeholder within the agreed SLA’s (Supply chain provider and the Site team)
• Ensure that the description data inputted within CCMS (Cost Capital Management System) is correctly aligned to the materials catalogue or descripts the works being undertaken
• Manage all age debt to minimise late payment to the supply chain
• Manage the procurement process, this involves developing tender documents, managing supplier evaluations, negotiating contracts, and awarding bids.
• Conduct market research and analysis to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and new technologies relevant to their category.
• Highlighting any potential performance issues both in delivery and communication
• Ensure all orders are noted for expediting where appropriate
• Building knowledge of products and services by engaging key stakeholders
