Job Purpose:
To lead and support the Business Support function across the service, ensuring effective staff management, operational delivery, and administrative excellence. This role will play a key part in inspection readiness, data management, and continuous improvement of systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management & Supervision
- Line manage Business Support Officers, including supervision, absence management, disciplinary processes, and conducting APRs and review meetings.
- Organise workloads and ensure consistent cover during absences.
- Work closely and collaboratively with Business Support Officers across the service.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Maintain and update system templates and processes.
- Prepare for Ofsted and other inspections, ensuring all documentation and systems are inspection-ready.
- Manage day-to-day office requirements including stationery, equipment, and supplies.
- Collect, compile, and present data; support data cleansing activities.
Training & Development
- Organise and deliver training for staff in relevant areas.
- Develop guidance notes and documentation to support task delivery and consistency.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience in staff supervision and administrative leadership.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in data handling and IT systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding in a public service environment
