Business Support Officer – Minute Taker? Location: Essington Lodge, Willenhall (Fully Onsite)? Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 37 hours per week? Temporary – 3 months ongoingAre you an experienced administrator with exceptional minute-taking skills?Opus People Solutions, on behalf of Walsall Council, is currently recruiting for a Business Support Officer – Minute Taker to join the Youth Offer and Participation Team. This is an opportunity to make a real difference by supporting vulnerable children and young people across the borough.? About the Role: As a key member of the Business Support Team, your primary responsibility will be to accurately record and produce minutes for sensitive and high-priority meetings. These minutes play a vital role and may be used in legal proceedings, so a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism is essential.? Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend and take detailed, child-friendly minutes during meetings involving vulnerable children and young people.
  • Produce minutes to a high standard within a 72-hour deadline.
  • Ensure accurate documentation is transferred to the Mosaic system used by Walsall Children’s Services.
  • Monitor and manage shared inboxes.
  • Be the first point of contact for calls and internal/external enquiries.
  • Organise and maintain files, documents, appointments, and calendars.
  • Support the wider Business Support team with general administrative duties.
? Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Essential: Minute-taking experience, particularly in sensitive or legal contexts.
  • Strong QWERTY/touch typing skills.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with case management systems (e.g., Mosaic) is desirable but not essential.
