The Opportunity

Salary: £52,049 to £55,615 per annum

Working Pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week

Location: Based - County Hall, Chichester and working from home

Interview date: w/c 17 June 2024

The Business Intelligence (BI) Systems Officer role is critical to ensuring that the Council has well organised data, derived from different and varied sources, which is available for reporting and analysis to provide management information, performance reporting, business insights and predictive analytics about the Council operations and its services in the context of broader information about its geography, its residents and its communities.

You will provide the technical expertise to identify, extract, transform and load data into appropriate solutions that enable the use of analytical tools to create reports, predictions and dashboards that act as an evidence base for operational and strategic decision making.

Working with teams and key stakeholders across the Council, you will liaise with colleagues to enable project-based BI activity to succeed by providing the technical knowledge that will underpin BI designs.

As our successful post holder, you will provide a service, both operational and strategic support in nature, requiring co-ordination with other teams and closely related functions.

What are we looking for?

  • Authoritative, applied knowledge of the specialist or professional discipline including technical theories and related principles.
  • Detailed knowledge of practices and procedures relating to management of discipline.
  • Sound and accurate IT knowledge especially in the tools associated with Microsoft Azure Data Platform and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of SQL.
