OverviewWe’re seeking a commercially astute Business Development Manager to drive growth across a defined UK and international customer portfolio within technical industrial sectors including engineering, utilities, manufacturing, and defence. Based at the company’s Worcestershire HQ with regular UK travel, this role suits someone transitioning from a field-based sales role who now seeks greater stability while remaining hands-on with customer development and commercial strategy. Why This Role MattersYou will play a pivotal role in delivering that growth through structured account development, pipeline conversion, and strategic input into marketing and internal sales processes. The business has strong foundations in its technical niche and is looking for someone to build on this with commercial energy, rigour, and relationship-led sales focus.  Key Responsibilities  Account Management
  • Own and manage a defined base of key accounts, ensuring commercial responsiveness and long-term relationship development
  • Deliver structured account plans to drive growth and strengthen customer partnerships
  • Collaborate with marketing to promote brand through trade customers and sector-specific campaigns
New Business Development
  • Proactively engage with target accounts and develop new customer opportunities
  • Build and manage a sales pipeline from initial contact through to quotation and close
  • Attend exhibitions, site visits, and client meetings to grow visibility and conversion
Commercial & Strategic Support
  • Provide input into product positioning, customer segmentation, and pricing strategy
  • Liaise with internal teams to share customer feedback and shape offering improvements
  • Use CRM systems to maintain accurate reporting and pipeline tracking
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Proven track record in B2B sales within manufacturing, industrial, or technical sectors
  • Experience in developing new business and account management within the manufacturing industry of both core and bespoke products
  • Commercially sharp with a structured, systematic approach to sales
  • Proficient with ERP, CRM, Excel, and Outlook
